Question

Is it safe to use outdoor concentrated bleach on laundry in an HE washer?

Answer

This is a great question.

I’m guessing you have some Clorox™ ProResults® Outdoor Bleach to use up after completing an outdoor project. It’s easy to do, and laundry is one option. You can safely use the product in an HE clothes washer; just be sure to use the bleach dispenser to add it. Also, while the machine is running, check to see how much suds is created in the washer. Clorox™ ProResults® Outdoor Bleach includes surfactants that may cause too much foaming, especially in a recirculating spray washer if you are washing a small or lightly soiled load. If your machine ends up with too much foam, then you can try something else to use up the product. My favorite way to use up extra Clorox™ ProResults® Outdoor Bleach is for cleaning toilets. I add ½ cup to the toilet bowl, swish it around with the toilet brush, and then let it sit for 10 minutes before flushing.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks for writing!
