How to Get Bacon Grease Out of Clothes

Bacon grease stains are extremely oily. Follow these grease stain removal tips to learn how to get bacon grease out of a shirt, clothes, and other fabrics.

Laundry

  1. Blot

    Blot the stain with a clean cloth, napkin or paper towel.

  2. Pre-Treat

    Apply liquid laundry detergent to the stain and then rub it in.

  3. Wait

    Wait 5 minutes.

  4. Machine Wash

    Use the hottest setting recommended on the care label. For white, bleach-safe fabrics, use your favorite detergent and add ⅓ cup Clorox™ Disinfecting Bleach. For colored fabrics or white items with spandex, add Clorox 2™ for Colors Laundry & Fabric Stain Remover along with the detergent.

  5. Repeat

    Repeat as needed before machine drying.

Surfaces

  1. Clean

    Remove excess drips or crumbs.

  2. Spray

    Spray Clorox™ Clean-Up™ Cleaner + Bleach 4–6 inches from surface until thoroughly wet.

  3. Wipe

    Wait 30 seconds and then give the countertop a rinse or a wipe.
