Whether it’s that daily morning coffee run or a much-needed afternoon coffee break, we know how important coffee is in our lives. However, when you are on the go and have a coffee spill accident, don’t let that ruin your day. Clorox is here to help by giving you instructions on how to remove new, dried or even set-in coffee stains.

  1. 1

    Pre-Treat, if needed

For large spills on white clothing or fabrics, pre-soak the entire item in a solution of ¼ cup Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach with CLOROMAX® per gallon of water. Submerge the garment and soak for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Wash

For white clothing and fabrics, wash immediately in the hottest water recommended by the care label using detergent and 1/3 cup or max line on HE machine with Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach with CLOROMAX®. Always be sure to follow the instructions on your garment’s care label.

  3. 3

    Check

After the wash, check to confirm the stain is gone before machine drying. If the stain is still present, repeat the process.

Colored Clothing & Fabrics

Whether it’s that daily morning coffee run or a much-needed afternoon coffee break, we know how important coffee is in our lives. However, when you are on the go and have a coffee spill accident, don’t let that ruin your day. Clorox is here to help by giving you instructions on how to remove new, dried or even set-in coffee stains.

  1. 1

    Pre-Treat, if needed

For colored clothing and fabrics, pour Clorox 2® for Colors Stain Remover & Color Brightener directly onto the coffee-stained area and let it sit for 5–10 minutes, making sure not to let it dry. The stain should begin to disappear immediately for both new and set-in coffee stains.

For larger stains or stains that cover an entire piece of clothing or fabric, soak the coffee-stained areas in 1 quart of water mixed with 1 full cup of Clorox 2® for Colors for up to 60 minutes. Stains will begin to disappear for both new and set-in stains.

  2. 2

    Wash

For colored clothing and fabrics, set your washer to the hottest recommended water setting and add both detergent and Clorox 2 for Colors into the laundry basin or detergent dispensing tray.

Clorox 2® for Colors helps remove stains and odors through the wash while making both colored and white clothing brighter and cleaner. Always be sure to follow the instructions on your garment’s care label.

  3. 3

    Check

After the wash, check to confirm the stain is gone before machine drying. If the stain is still present, repeat the process.
