Tips on How to Clean a Sponge

Try not to use sponges to clean up after raw meat, poultry or eggs. Instead, use Clorox® Clean-Up® Cleaner + Bleach and a disposable paper towel as directed. Food contact surfaces require a clean water rinse.

Sanitize dish towels daily in the sink using a bleach and water solution made with 2 teaspoons Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach per gallon of water. Let soak 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly or machine wash as directed. While your are at it, include your sponges in the soaking solution and clean them at the same time!
