Q. What is Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray and how does it work?

A. Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray is strong enough to kill 99.9% of common household bacteria, but gentle enough to be used on surfaces around kids, pets and food.* It's pH-balanced to work at a low concentration and be as gentle as soap and water. It leaves no harsh fumes or residue and will not whiten surfaces. It is an EPA registered sanitizer (EPA Reg. No. 5813-85).

A. Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray starts with very pure water and refined bleach. The product is then pH balanced so that it remains both gentle and effective for a full year. The concentration of sodium hypochlorite (bleach) in Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray is 0.0095%. The result is a product that is gentle as water, but strong enough to kill 99.9% of common household bacteria on hard, nonporous surfaces. This means it is gentle enough to use on surfaces around kids, pets and food.

Q. Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray contains bleach. Is it color and fabric safe?

A. Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray should not whiten or bleach surfaces, nor should it damage fabrics or clothing, due to its low bleach concentration. That said, it is intended for use on hard, nonporous surfaces.

Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray kills 99.9% of common household bacteria on hard, nonporous surfaces including: Ceramic Tile, chrome, Corian® countertops, Formica® laminate, glass, sealed granite, linoleum, sealed marble, metal, plastic, glazed porcelain, stainless steel, tile, vinyl.

And is also ok to use on:

Q. Do I have to wipe after spraying Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray?

A. You can wipe up if you want to, but Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray is so gentle you don't need to do so. Just spray on hard, nonporous surfaces, and after two minutes, 99.9% of common household bacteria will be eliminated.* So you can then wipe it up, or just walk away knowing the liquid will evaporate leaving behind no harmful residue.

A. Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray should not be ingested, but it is gentle enough to be used on food-contact surfaces without rinsing or wiping after spraying.

Q. Can I spray Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray directly on food?

A. Clorox® Anywhere® Hard Surface™ daily sanitizing spray is not intended for use on food. It is excellent, however, for use on food contact surfaces including plastic cutting boards, serving trays, kitchen tools and plastic containers.

Q. What does "hard surface" mean?

A. Hard surface means a surface is hard and nonporous. Examples include plastic, porcelain, stainless steel, ceramic, chrome, laminate like Formica® counters, glass, sealed granite, linoleum, metal, vinyl and finished wood. This product is not intended for use on soft, porous surfaces such as fabric, carpeting, grout, or unfinished woods (e.g., wood cutting boards).

A. Sanitizing kills bacteria that may cause many illnesses. This is important because bacteria can last for up to 72 hours on surfaces like kitchen and bathroom counters, toilet seats and children's toys, and in some cases the surface may be contaminated with bacteria even when they're not visibly soiled.

Q. How much of a problem is bacteria? Do I really need to worry about sanitizing everything in my home?

A. No, you don't need to sanitize everything in your home all the time. There are surfaces you will want to sanitize more often—like plastic cutting boards and other food contact surfaces to help reduce the spread of harmful bacteria, like E. Coli and Salmonella choleraesuis. Bacteria from the kitchen and bathroom can quickly spread throughout the home by traveling on our hands from one surface to another, so it is important to manage the spread of bacteria on frequently touched surfaces. Bacteria can survive on the bathroom doorknob or the kids' toys for up to 72 hours, leaving plenty of time for them to be picked up by another family member.
