Kellie Pickler has crammed a lot success into her 23 years: first as a contestant on “American Idol”, then as a best-selling country artist with a smash debut single, “Red High Heels.” She is working hard this summer, conducting a multi-city tour.
Given the title of her first hit song, it is no wonder that Pickler supports Soles4Souls, a charity that in four years has donated more than 5 million pairs of shoes to poor people around the world. Its recent event, “Barefoot Week,” distributed more than 325,000 pairs of new sandals to needy people in five cities: New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Detroit and Taylor, Ariz.
“I am thrilled to support Soles4Souls and 2009 Barefoot Week in order to help spread their mission to change the world one pair at a time,” Pickler says. “Their commitment is inspiring, and I hope that thousands of people will join me in support of the fantastic work they are doing across America.”
