Pretreating

Try these handy solutions to make pretreating your laundry a snap.

  • Pretreating 1-2-3

The most successful launderers have learned the secret of the pretreat. There’s no need to be intimidated by this step. When pretreating stains, remember these three things:

    • 1. The sooner you get to the stain, the more likely you are to get rid of it.
    • 2. When blotting out stains, use a white cloth to prevent dye from transferring to the item you’re treating, and blot from the edges of the stain, to keep the stain from spreading.
    • 3. The pretreat is just the first step. Always follow it by laundering immediately as directed on the care label, in the warmest water recommended.
    Tips for whites
    • Consider Clorox® Bleach Pen® Gel for treating mostly whites (stripes or prints). Use the scrubber tip to jump-start stain removal then toss in the washer with your white or mostly-white load.
    • To easily remove deodorant marks from white tops, try rubbing them with panty hose.
