When a customer walks into a Wal-Mart store in Boise, Idaho to do their weekly shopping, it's Matt's teams job to help make sure they find a bottle of Clorox® bleach on the shelf and any other Clorox product they may want to purchase. "My team bridges demand planning, manufacturing planning, logisticians, customer service, merchandising, replenishment, and store operations to help make this magic happens invisibly to the consumer," he says.
At Clorox, Supply Chain Managers partner with both Clorox business units and retail customers to identify and implement mutually beneficial process innovations. "Our role is to add velocity to business growth by enabling product availability. At the same time, we're continually looking for ways to reduce total delivered costs."
Candidates interested in joining Clorox's Supply Chain Management team should prepare to work in a "fast and furious" environment, Matt says. "If you're not excited about learning all aspects of the business, from systems processes that improve efficiencies to problem solving, and analyzing data to drive change - this won't be a good fit for you. But if you have those interests and abilities, as well as strong customer relations skills, you'll find Clorox to be a dynamic place to work and grow."
As for why he's stayed at the company for 12 years, Matt says he loves his job delivering valuable products to customers, but that's not what keeps him here. "I stay because Clorox does a great job of making me feel valued."
